Strider is a unique action game released by Capcom. The game revolves around the battle between a secret organization Strider consisting of high-tech ninjas and a dark force Zain specializing in smuggling, kidnapping and sabotage. After the death of his younger sister, Hiryu, a young ninja decided to leave the Strider organization and settle down in Mongolia. Sometime later, the organization’s deputy director Matic appeared and demanded Hiryu return to perform a final mission. Kain, Hiryu’s friend has been kidnapped by the enemy to extract information from the organization. Under these circumstances, Matic wants Hiryu to go to the enemy’s base to carry out the assassination of Kain. Matic threatened to destroy all Mongolians if Hiryu refused the mission. With no other choice, he agrees and returns to the base in the Blue Dragon space station. However, instead of killing Kain, he decided to embark on a dangerous mission to rescue his teammates.
Players will control the character Hiryu in the journey to rescue his friend. His HP and MP are displayed on the screen. He will learn some special skills such as sliding, accelerating, jumping triangle and Plasma arrows throughout the game to level up his character. His health and energy limit is also increased after each level. The first skill Hiryu learned after the first level is sliding. He will use this skill to attack the enemy directly. This skill will surprise the enemy and freeze for a short time. However, he would be in danger if he slipped into an area with many enemies. While moving high above, Hiryu can jump further when using acceleration skills. Jumping triangle will help him to go to some forbidden areas in the enemy’s base. Hiryu will destroy many enemies in one attack when using Plasma arrows. This technique is very powerful and does not consume his energy.
To go deep into the center of the base, Hiryu needs to destroy all enemies arranged outside. Hiryu’s weapon is Cypher, a special blade with high damage. He will move into the center of Zain to search for his friend. The rooms in the base are organized into floors, linked together via an elevator. Hiryu will take out all the enemies from the rooms one by one to find the key to unlock the last room containing Kain. By combining special skills learned, he will quickly defeat all enemies and successfully rescue Kain.
After the journey to rescue Kain, Hiryu discovers that behind all the crimes is the direction of Matic. He invades the base again to search and destroy Matic. The player completes a mission by rescuing Kain, destroying the Zain base, and destroying Matic.
