A minor ROM hack called Night of Doom: The Perfect Run was created by StanFuzz and is yet another expansion of BroDute’s original Night of Doom.
It focuses more on the Perfect Run from Super Mario Galaxy 2, Grandmaster Galaxy’s trick comet star, which is the idea of surviving through sections without being hit or dying. The challenge is significantly more frantic in Night of Doom because it collects 10 of the 15 hardest stages in a different order and has sections that have been changed or expanded.
There are two versions, each with a single Star: the Normal version, which serves as the primary challenge to test players’ platforming prowess; and the Lite version, which adds a new checkpoint system and is designed for those who want to keep playing without having to restart.
(This and the lite versions)
Additionally, both games feature easter eggs that can be found scattered throughout the game in various locations. The new musical selections and the area that is unlocked after collecting all of the stars are the only new features.
