Untamed is an updated version of the game MX vs. ATV Unleashed, and it retains some of the gameplay elements that were popular in the original game while also introducing some brand-new features. In addition to four different kinds of ATVs and bikes ranging from 250 to 550 cc in engine size, this manufacturer offers monster trucks, off-road dune buggies, and trophy trucks.
Players can pull off insane stunts and compete in six different racing series (Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Supermoto, Freestyle, and Rally) or the X-Cross, a tournament of all the series wrapped up in one. Additionally, players can acquire sponsorships, which result in the player receiving better bikes based on their performance. It also has something called Crash Camera, a super slow-mo analysis of accidents and wrecks, much like MotorStorm.
Other minigames have been incorporated into the experience, such as ATV hockey, Monster Truck Smash, and Tag, to mention a few. When playing online, the user will compete against other players. The gameplay is highly similar to the console systems, with particular buttons serving as accelerators and brakes, although the Wii remote can also be used.
The DS and PSP versions are practically identical to one another. Ten unique courses and three unique stadiums are included in the Nintendo DS version of the game, even though there are only a few vehicles and only a championship mode available, in contrast to the many other series available in the versions for the major consoles. The PSP version is identical to the console versions but features different competitions, such as Race, One-on-One, Time Attack, Stunt Challenge, Stunt Race, Hang-Time, Combo Challenge, and Flag Challenge. It also includes the X-Cross competition, but instead of calling it that, it is known as the MX vs. ATV World Tour. Using Wi-Fi, you and your buddies can compete in various games.
