Ice Hockey is a hockey sport game released by Nintendo in 1998. Game rules and penalties are similar to real life. The game field is also designed to resemble a hockey pitch in tournaments with a pitch covered with ice with a goal on either side. Each player is provided with ski boots, hockey sticks and helmets for safety during competition.
In the game, players will control their team members to participate in battles with other teams. Each team consists of 5 players. At the beginning of the game, the player will arrange his or her squad properly. Depending on the preferences, players can form strong squads of attack or defense. If the player chooses the default line-up, the system will display a table of teams from countries such as the United States, Sweden, Poland, Canada, Russia, Czechoslovakia so they can choose. Players will control their players to hit a black ball with a hockey stick on the opponent’s goal. They will have to move and make precise passes to bypass the opponent’s defense. In a match, each team participates in three rounds to find the winner. At the end of the first half, two teams need to change the field. After the second half has ended, the player continues to change the field to prepare for the third in two minutes. If, after three rounds, the two teams are evenly matched in points, they will come to the penalty shootout. In a penalty shootout, each member from both teams tries to make a perfect shot at the opponent’s goal. In the last 10 times, the team with the highest score will win.
The game also has some penalties with in-game situations. When a player beats the ball past the opponent’s playing area, that ball will be collected by a member of the opposing team, who performs that ball will be Icing. After that, the referee will collect the ball, the opponent will be allowed to pass the ball from the middle of the game field. Besides, if a debate takes place in the field between players on both sides because the opponent holds the ball for too long, the winner of the round will be the one who presses the key “A” most times. Using dark moving skills with an appropriate formation will help the player win against all opponents.
