After the war against the evil witch has not ended in the first version, manufacturer Atari Games continued to release Gauntlet II in 1986 to meet player’s needs. In the fight to retrieve the Holy Land from the evil sorcerer, a series of monsters escape Gauntlet’s attack and hide in a new land. As their forces grew, they began to return to take revenge on him and with the plot to invade the Holy Land once again. With many innovations in content, the game will give players classic battles.
Players will control the character Gauntlet started the journey against the attack of the demon king and the monsters. Gauntlet will pass 100 different levels to fight the enemies. The enemies in the game are very diverse. In the first levels, he only attacks demon warriors and monsters with little magic power. Coming to some special stages in the level milestones, Gauntlet has to fight red witch (after level 30), green goblin (late level 50) and a red witch at the end of the game. These enemies possess dangerous magic with Gauntlet.
Gauntlet is armed with an ax at the start of the game. Killing enemies in the first stage will help him collect many valuable items like armor, boots and new weapons. Equipping an armor helps Gauntlet block attacks from enemies. Collecting a pair of shoes will increase his movement speed. The opponents appear in the next level increasingly difficult. Therefore, a weapon with great power would be a useful item for him. Gauntlet will use the bonus collected in the game to buy poison from the restore his HP and MP. Once inside a room, he can use his whole weapon to destroy. Many enemies will appear when he vandalizes the walls of the building. Gauntlet will collect a long sword going on to the next stage. This sword has great power with the ability to destroy walls. A special room appearing at stage 50 of the game will contain many dangers for the player. He will attack with two large monsters with powerful magic. Gauntlet must destroy each monster and avoid waking the remaining monster. His magical power will increase rapidly after defeating the first monster. After this level, his attack speed and ability to move become faster. Along with that, Gauntlet’s armor and weapons are also enhanced to counter the attacks of enemies in the remaining levels of the game. The game ends when the player destroys all monsters and enemies in 100 levels.
