Dynasty Warriors

On the PSP, Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series debuts in full 3D for the first time. As an officer in a Chinese army (Wei, Wu, or Shu armies), you fight and kill thousands of men in significant battles spread across multiple battlefields – either in the campaign “Musou” modes or the single combat “Free” mode that can be used to practice.

Each level consists of a map divided into several parts. The player chooses an area from the map that he has access to (areas are connected in specific directions, and the player can only move to a place that is connected to the one he is currently in); if the site contains enemy units, a battlefield similar to the ones in the main Dynasty Warriors games, albeit smaller, will load. For each location to be liberated, the opposing squads must be eliminated. When an enemy controls such a region, bonuses such as supplies that enhance the remaining time to complete the stage are obtained. Characters collect experience points and level up when they defeat adversaries.

A bodyguard system is new to this PSP edition, where your chosen second officer can provide specific things or skills, such as ensuring you always have a horse when entering an area. In contrast, others can grant you special powered-up Musou techniques.
