California Games is an engaging sports game released by Epyx. Players will have fun experiences when participating in games in California. The game supports up to 8 players at the same time. They will select the characters to participate in one of the outdoor games such as skateboarding, skating, cycling, surfing, Hackey Sack and disc throwing. At the end of each game, the player who earns the highest score will receive gold, silver and bronze trophies, respectively.
The first game the player can experience in skateboarding. They need to control their characters very accurately to keep their balance when starting the game. This will be a tough challenge for new players. Sometimes it will make them feel frustrated and depressed for having to keep balance throughout the game. Once familiar with the skateboard, players will perform basic to advanced skills to get the highest score.
Players will continue to experience the game with the next sport: cycling. Each player will control his bike through different rugged terrain. Performing acrobatics at high altitudes or overcoming obstacles will give them a high score. However, it can injure players and take time.
Frisbee is also considered a simple but very interesting game. Players will use the throwing force and appropriate angle to bring the flying saucer farthest. They will perform many times to complete the game.
Figure skating will show the biggest difference between players. Just like skateboarding, they have to keep balance during their journey. The person who keeps the best balance and moves the farthest distance will be the winner of the game. The biggest challenge in this game for them is that beach balls, road cracks, banana peels, and other obstacles will constantly make it difficult to move.
With Hackey Sack, players can perform some top-notch techniques like Jesters, Full Axles, Half Axles, and Dizzy Deans. The speed of the game is very fast. Players will be able to show and admire the top acrobatics even though it will feel dizzy when playing.
In addition to land games, players will experience sea surfing. They will be surfing on the high waves and impress the judges with jumps. A large wave is chasing the player, so they cannot slow down when making the jump. The result will be canceled when the player loses balance and falls into the water.
