BIT.TRIP CORE

The second game in the Bit.Trip series is Bit.Trip Core. It employs the same rhythm-based concept as the previous game but with entirely different gameplay. Players take command of a fixed core in the center of the screen. Using the 2-button, the player holds the Wii remote sideways, launches a beam, and collects all dots that pass. A rapid succession of movements is required because the shaft can only be found in one direction at a time. Because all objects are linked to the game’s chiptune music, the player must follow the rhythm to capture the things in time.

The game switches between Super and Mega modes by completing combos without missing any dots, which changes the music and images. When too many bubbles are cut, the game enters a slower, monochromatic mode, which can be restored by collecting enough beads. The game is over when too many dots are ignored in monochrome mode. The player also has a bomb that can clear all the dots on the screen. The game has three scenarios that take around fifteen minutes each: Discovery, Exploration, and Control. Each design is divided into pieces.

The game can be played with a second player cooperatively.
