You’ll face off against 20 of the biggest names in tennis, including Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, and Lindsay Davenport, among others, in the World Tour mode of Virtua Tennis 3, the most meaningful way. You are responsible for creating your character and playing the game to top the global leaderboard.
In contrast to Top Spin 2, Virtua Tennis 3 does not take the shape of a simulation and just requires three buttons to execute any shot. Some time still needs to be committed toto training the character through a series of minigames. These minigames need you to fight aliens by hitting them with returns or striking a circle on the opposite side of the net.
You also have the option to compete as a professional player versus the computer or a friend (or even both of them if you play Doubles). In keeping with the concept of the home version, there are also twelve minigames you and your friends can compete in against one another. These include the ones learned during the World Tour training and those known from other sources, such as curling or super bingo. The Challenge Mode has been replaced with the World Tour Mode and the Party Mode in the game’s arcade version. The Tournament and Exhibition Mode are also available in this game version.
