In this installment of the SSX franchise, you may design your skier or snowboarder and then head out onto the slopes. You choose the competition you wish to participate in rather than boarding your way to the event as you did in prior editions, using a front-end interface different from the one used in earlier versions and appearing like a combination of MTV and a doodle book.
Thanks to the updated controls that make “Monster Jumps” (Uber Tricks) easier to do, everyone can look like an expert without having to learn button combos. As was the case previously, if you repeat the same move repeatedly, you won’t acquire the points necessary to take your skier or snowboarder from being a beginner to being what they call a “black-diamond-dominating rockstar.”
The game promises to include large jumps, a quick pace, and dozens of different colored slopes with many intricacies.
The GameCube version of the game includes Mario, Luigi, and Peach as playable special characters on the mountain. Each has unique moves, and the music is in the Mario style.
