As a Prinny, one of the loving penguins who wields a knife and appears in the Disgaea series, you have been tasked with scouring the netherworld for your master Etna’s missing dessert. This mission has been handed to you. Because of the vast number of demons that inhabit the underworld, accomplishing their mission is next to impossible; further complicating matters is the fact that Prinnies tend to blow up when hurled. To our good fortune, Etna has equipped one of her Prinnies with an enchanted scarf, which neutralizes the explosive nature of these creatures. Should this particular Prinny be knocked over, the next Prinny in line is obligated to pick up the scarf and carry on…
Prinny: Can I Be the Hero is a side-scrolling video game with some segments played from a third-person perspective (during air attacks). Grants you a thousand lives at the beginning of this significantly tricky mission. The Prinny is equipped with various other moves in addition to the more common ones, such as jump, attack, and jumping attack. Your Prinny can sprint for short distances, jump, slam downward upon enemies with a “hip pound” attack, hang onto ledges, and even pick up adversaries or explosives and hurl them. Your Prinny may also pirouette (spin) along the ground for a brief period of invincibility. The player will occasionally come across vehicles, such as tanks, that the Prinny can utilize for short periods, but only under certain circumstances.
You will get the opportunity to speak with Etna, some of the Prinnies, and a few others when you are between levels in the castle. These characters advance the narrative, provide hints, and make it possible to save game progress. In addition, players can access in-game replays here. These replays can be saved after various events occur in the game. These replays can be moved to other PSP systems, allowing your pals to view what you’ve been up to even if they don’t have a PSP.
You can choose between two levels of challenge in Prinny: Can I Be the Hero: the first, “Standard mode,” ends after you take three hits, while the second, “Hell mode,” ends after you take just one hit.
