TrackMania: Build to Race is a racing game with a complete track editor. This means the player can create new songs by merging track blocks. Aside from the standard straight and curving tracks, jumps, loopings, accelerators, and other features provide unique racing difficulties.
This Wii version of the long-running PC racing game has six background landscapes (stadium, coast, island, desert, snow, and rally), each with a distinct car model (race car, coupe, sports car, standard car, pickup, and a little car).
There are three game modes: race, stunt, and puzzle. In Race mode, your goal is to complete a track as quickly as possible. The programmers have established track records for each channel. There are bronze, silver, and gold medal times that the player must beat to earn those medals. The ways in Stunt mode are more acrobatic, and you must complete them with as few restarts as possible. In Puzzle mode, the player must construct a path connecting the fixed beginning and finishing places using specific track pieces and then drive the track as quickly as possible.
