Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis

Earth is besieged by an increasing number of natural disasters, and in a United Nations plenum in New York, scientists, professionals, and politicians struggle to find an explanation and a solution to the crises. Meanwhile, Nina Kalenkow, the heroine of Secret Files: Tunguska, has separated herself from Max Gruber. She is on a small cruise to distract herself from Max rather than accompanying her father to the UN plenum. But, just as she is about to board the ship, a strange man runs into her and is run over a few seconds later.

This man was William Patterson, a friend of the bishop in Cambridge who had been assassinated a few weeks before by special forces for possessing an old parchment. The local priest sent it to the bishop just before he was slain after discovering it in the church of Ashton. The special forces unit could not locate the parchment at the University of Cambridge, and no one knows where it is. But, as fate would have it, Mr. Patterson’s bag appears in Nina’s room aboard the ship – and instead of having a holiday, Nina now finds herself in the heart of an entirely new adventure.

Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis, like its predecessor, is a traditional point-and-click adventure. The 3D characters travel in front of hand-drawn sceneries, converse with other people in multiple-choice dialogues, and gather various goods to solve the many puzzles awaiting them on their adventure. Although the player primarily controls Nina throughout the game, other characters (such as the priest of Ashton) will be playable to provide a more in-depth look at the issue.

The context-sensitive mouse pointer examines the surroundings, combines items, etc. To assist the player in finding everything, he can press the space bar, which will light up all hot spots in the present location. The game also includes a logbook in which all of the significant events that have occurred up to this point are explained, and an integrated riddle helper to assist.
