LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias

The sequel to LostWinds is LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias. This time, Toku and Enril, the wind spirit, are on a mission to find Toku’s mother, who has gone on an adventure in the highlands. At the same time, they are attempting to discover the fate of the old Melodia civilization, which has vanished. Magmok, the first game’s final boss, leads them there, where Toku realizes the city is trapped in an eternal winter cycle. His priority will be to find enough heat to live.

As in the first game, the player controls Toku’s movements with the Nunchuk and Enril’s powers using the Wii remote. One of the most exciting aspects of the gameplay is the option to transition between winter and summer by utilizing statues in the area, with each season affecting the surroundings. For example, while water is frozen in winter, Toku can swim in it with a simple change of season. In the winter, Toku can turn snow borne by the wind into a snowball.

Another new element includes a map, which shows the path to proceed in the game and displays the number of bonus totems concealed in each zone.
