The original game, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, was modified to become Deluxe Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Notable shifts include:
All of the tower courses have been converted into fortress courses, and they now have a new layout that consists of two primary areas, then the Battle of Koopaling. The first area of most forts requires movement in a horizontal plane, while the second area of some forts requires movement in a vertical plane. One last thing to mention is that, with the exception of one fort, courses based on forts now use the same tile sets as courses based on castles.
Some of the foes in New Super Mario Bros. Wii appear in the game more frequently than they did in the previous installment, New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Specifically, these:
77 user-created courses that take the place of the game’s main courses in New Super Mario Bros. Wii; user-created backgrounds for World 9
– Custom tile sets for at least one of World 9’s courses – Pink and light blue Yoshi have been replaced with red and blue versions of the character Yoshi.
– A few altered messages that are compatible with both NTSC-U and PAL regions
– A variety of aesthetically significant content
