The Magic of Scheherazade is a blockbuster action-adventure masterpiece. The game was released on Nintendo by Culture Brain in 1987. During the time when magic was prevalent, the mighty Arab Country was invaded by an evil witch named Sabaron. In an attempt to save his homeland, the great magician Isfa failed and his heir (name decided by the player) rose to reclaim the freedom of his country. However, the hero continued to fail and lose his memory. As a result, Princess Scheherazade was kidnapped along with her father and three sisters. Once again, Isfa’s descendants must go everywhere to rescue Scheherazade and her family. With Coronya’s guidance, the hero learns of the location where the evil sorcerer Sabaron captures Scheherazade. During his journey, the hero received the help of eleven people to overcome Sabaron’s minions. At the same time, they also accompanied him for the rest of the journey to fight against Sabaron. When rescuing Scheherazade’s three sisters and her father, the hero confronts Sabaron. At this time, he realized that releasing Goragora was a mistake. The hero then arrives in the Dark World and destroys Goragora, returning peace to the land.
The game has all five worlds. Most of the game takes place on high terrain. In each world, players must complete a number of missions and recruit allies of that area, moving between the two eras of the world using the Time Portal. This portal will randomly appear at each age. Each world has its own characteristics: many landscapes, underwater, dungeons or towns, deserts. Each chapter ends with a demon lord and the player must defeat them.
The player’s main weapon is a sword used for close-range attacks and a stick that can shoot exploding bubbles to the end of the screen. In addition, players can choose one of three systems: Warriors, mages, and monks. The warrior used the equipped sword and a small magic wand, the sorcerer used a power stick and a dagger. Priests can only attack with a small stick and dagger but will be supported with certain tasks such as finding help. Changes between systems will also be required for different tasks. Players can change the system (for a fee) at the Church or by using the great Moscom spell in the solar world Alalart.
