Robin Hood: Prince of Thief is an action-adventure game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Virgin Games for Nintendo in 1991. At a prison in Jerusalem, the game’s protagonist Robin Hood is being detained along with his two friends: Peter Dubois and Azeem. Robin Hood and his two friends talk about making a plan to get out of prison. After learning about the prison’s structure and security, they came up with a perfect plan. In the process of escaping, they were chased interrupted. Peter Dubois was shot dead by the guards and could not continue to escape. However, Robin Hood and Lucky Azeem escaped from this prison. After that, the two of them returned to England.
Upon returning to England, Robin Hood received word that his father had been murdered. At this time, England was ruled by the evil police chief of the city of Nottingham. While King Richard was not present in England to run the country, all power belonged to him. He ruled by brutally exploiting the people here while King Richard was not in England. There, Robin Hood found a base against the sheriff and joined them.
At this base, he was given many important tasks. Robin Hood constantly leaves the base to perform his assigned task. After completing a mission, the character will return to the base to report and receive the next mission. His last mission is to infiltrate the abode of the evil police and defeat him. After defeating the evil sheriff, England returned to normal, King Richard returned to run the country and Robin Hood took Maid Marian as his wife.
Like other Nintendo action games, Robin Hood: Prince of Thief is divided into several levels with increasing difficulty. The game consists of many different modes corresponding to each task that the player is assigned. Adventure mode is the mode in which a character destroys all enemies on that level to reach the next level. The second mode is a solo mode, where the player fights with one of the sheriff’s minions. The last mode is melee. In this mode, the player will control the character fighting an army of enemies with his teammates on the battlefield.
