Prince of Persia is an action-adventure game released in 1989 by Nintendo. The game is set in ancient Persia. While General Sultan is fighting on the battlefield, the cruel prime minister Jaffar has killed the monarchy and seized power. He captured the princess and locked her in a tower. If she did not agree to be his wife, she would die in two days. Receiving information about his lover, the Sultan returned and was locked in a dungeon. To free her, he must escape from the dungeon to go to her custody and defeat Jaffar before time runs out. He will face many pitfalls on his way out of prison. In addition, the Sultan will have to fight his copy created from the magic mirror before meeting Jaffar.
The game consists of 12 levels. You will control the Sultan to escape from the dungeon and reach the tower before time runs out. During the mission, players will have to face many pitfalls and fight with many enemies. You will be provided with the amount of hp shown at the bottom of the screen. This HP will be lost when you hit the enemy hit, stick traps falling from a position higher than where you are standing. After defeating the enemy, they will drop items with different colors and sizes. The red potion will restore you some HP. If you pick up the blue potion, your HP will be slightly depleted. In addition, you can fly to avoid hitting traps and attacking enemies from above when picking up green items. After defeating an enemy, you will receive bonus points depending on the difficulty of the enemy you have defeated. Using bonus points, you will buy weapons with greater power and items needed to complete the task as quickly as possible. If your HP runs out, your character will die. You will return to the stage where the character dies but the timer will not stop.
There are three types of traps that players must ignore: Spike traps, deep holes, and guillotines. You will die instantly if you fall into one of these traps. In addition, there are gates blocking the passage. You can open it by standing in front of the gate for a while but watch the enemies around.
Before escaping from the prison, the character will have to go through a magic mirror. There will be a copy identical to the main character, the player will have to fight him to be able to reach the tower capturing the princess. This copy will have the same stats and abilities as the character you are controlling. In the end, the player will have to defeat Jaffar to rescue the princess. You will fail when the time limit is exceeded.
