Micro Machines is a racing game released by Codemasters Software in 1991.
When starting the game, the player can choose one of two modes to play: one person and two people. With one player mode, they will participate in a racing event with many famous riders around the world. They can select a two-player mode to show their racing skills to their teammates. Before starting the race, players will choose one of their favourite riders: Joel, Bonnie, Dwayne, Mike, Emilio, Jethro, Anne, Cherry, Chen, Spider, Walter. After selecting their characters, they were put on the first track with three random riders. All riders will control their boat to complete the first race. In this race, there are no obstacles to stop players. They will use their skills to control the boat skillfully to overcome their three opponents and win.
Players are taken to the next track with many changes. They will be able to choose 3 other riders to join the race. The driver’s vehicle is a car. All riders are chosen to start driving their car on an obstacle course. Obstacles such as oil spills, ice sheets, and puddles will cause their vehicle to be dropped off the track or to reduce its speed in a short period of time. The driver who drives the car to the goal at the end of the first map is the winner in that race.
Winning each race, players will advance to the following races with different terrains and vehicles. Race 2 – Desktop Dropoff starts when the driver has selected his car. They were taken to a racetrack with many obstacles on both sides of the road. When colliding with such obstructions, the race car is pulled back a short distance. This will cause other riders to overtake them. A major difficulty for players in this race is to cross the dangerous bridges. If distracted, the player will fall into the water and continue his journey at the foot of the bridge.
The next tracks the racers must take are Oilcan Alley, forests and deserts. After the Oilcan Alley track, a racer will be eliminated from the tournament. To continue their journey, players need to stand in the top 3 after each race. In the last two races, the remaining 3 riders have to overcome many obstacles to reach the goal. When their racing cars collide with each other many times, it may explode. Winning all the tracks will help players get the prestigious trophy from the game.
