With great success from the previous version of Adventure Island series games, Hudson Soft games continue issuing Adventure Island 3 with many changes. The game retains action gameplay combined with realistic images promising to bring interesting experiences to players.
While doing his job, Tina, the girlfriend of Master Higgins, has been kidnapped by a mysterious force. A flying saucer took her to a base with many monsters. Before this dangerous situation, Higgins and his friends began the journey to rescue Tina. They faced attacks from multiple enemies in eight stages. Eventually, the party finds Tina’s captive base and fights aliens in the final battle.
In the game, players will control Higgins to complete their mission. In the first stage, he will be given an island. Many enemies appear on the island like birds and snails. The weapon equipped for him is an ax. When encountering enemies, Higgins will throw axes continuously to destroy enemies. He can jump high if he does not want to attack them. On the journey to the island, he will collect some fruits to help restore health and increase movement speed. A skateboard that appears randomly during this stage will help him move faster to the next stage.
Higgins is taken to the second stage when passing through a cave door. Once inside the cave, he is equipped with a boomerang with great power to destroy enemies. Skulls with the ability to fly in the air, butterflies and poisonous spiders are Higgins’ next enemies. He must jump high to meet the deep holes containing lava. When Higgins touches a card in the cave, he will receive a dinosaur to help the process of moving in the cave easier. Higgins will come to a forest in the third phase of the game. The poisonous flames and spiders were barriers to him during this period. A rhino appears when he touches an egg on the road. Moving on that rhino will ensure the safety of Higgins. In addition, a bee will accompany him to destroy the poisonous spiders.
Before reaching the last base of aliens, Higgins had to dive into an ocean with some undersea creatures like seahorses, jellyfish, and starfish. Destroying all enemies in the sea will bring him to the final battle. A flying saucer is constantly moving to attack him in the final stage. With the ability to move flexibly, Higgins will destroy the flying disc easily. After the flying saucer is destroyed, Higgins will successfully rescue Tina.
