The Warner Brothers animated series of the same name inspired the creation of the video game Xiaolin Showdown, which is based on the series. It is a fighting game in which the player assumes the role of one of the four central characters from the show: Kimiko, Omi, Raimundo, or Clay. Even if you play by yourself, the other three players are still there and are being handled by the game’s AI. The story mode of the game allows up to four players at the same time. By completing specific challenges, you can unlock two more characters, Jack Spicer and Chase Young.
To face Mala Mala Jong and stop the plans of the evil child genius Jack Spicer, the players will need to beat waves of enemy robots to gather Shen Gong Wu artifacts, which will improve their power. After that, they must defeat opponents until they face Mala Mala Jong. Each Shen Gong Wu grants the user new power, such as immobilizing characters in the immediate area or striking the ground to damage a site. Throughout the game, players will earn money that can be used to purchase additional Shen Gong Wu.
Party fighting games such as Power Stone and Super Smash Bros. have served as a source of inspiration for the gameplay. You can jump and give flying kicks and link combos together using button combinations.
There are showdowns between the several stages of the game, and during these showdowns, the characters have to bet a Shen Gong Wu. The one who prevails in the competition selects Shen Gong Wu from the one who came in second place. You also have the option to play only the showdowns rather than the entire story mode.
