Star Wars Battlefront – Elite Squadron

Earlier on in the timeline of the Star Wars epic, an untold tale unfolded between two brothers who went by the aliases X1 and X2. These two brothers were cloned from a Jedi, and as they grew older, they became a crucial element of the Clone Wars. As trainers and leaders of the army that would lead the Republic against those that threatened to disrupt order throughout the Galaxy, they were an integral component of the conflict. Both worlds were doomed to oblivion due to the Emperor’s rise to power, which resulted in the immediate implementation of Order 66 and the complete elimination of the Jedi Order in one fell swoop. Desperate to keep his hopes for peace alive, X2 became a member of the Rebel Alliance, a loose coalition of individuals who opposed the policies of the Empire. X1, on the other hand, stayed behind to work with the new Galaxy Governors. Now, the two brothers are headed for a head-on confrontation that will determine not just their futures but also the end of the Galaxy.

In addition to the 12-level single-player narrative between the brothers, the multiplayer mode of Elite Squadron is very similar to that of the previous Battlefront series. In this mode, two teams compete against one another to take control of different areas of the game world. Maps can represent combat on the ground, in space, or within starships, with the majority encompassing all three settings. Each player has access to a pool of pre-made character archetypes, some better suited to particular activities than others (such as flying an X-Wing or a Tie Fighter or using explosives, for example). Most of these elements are utilized throughout the story arc of the single-player campaign.
